Delete your ReadHug account
You can delete your ReadHug account and the data linked to it at any time. The quickest way is in the app.
Delete your account in the app
- To keep a reader profile you own with another grown-up, open that reader's page in ReadHug and transfer ownership to them first.
- Go to Settings and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with the code we email you.
Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in details
- Reader profiles you own, unless you transfer them to another grown-up
- Reading sessions, goals, notes and badges
- Reviews and book photos you added
- Copies held by the service providers that help us run ReadHug
What we may keep
Some records must be kept by law for a limited time, such as a record of the consents you gave. Our privacy notice explains what we keep and for how long.
Request deletion on the web
Can’t use the app? Send us a request here. To protect your family, we will email you to confirm the request comes from you before anything is deleted.
Request received
If a ReadHug account uses this email address, we will send a message to confirm the deletion. Check your inbox (and spam folder) and follow the link to finish.
